Markus Reindel

Markus Reindel (* 1960 ) is a German American composer .

Markus Reindel studied ancient American studies, ethnology, geography and Spanish philology in Freiburg, Madrid and Bonn from 1981 to 1987. In 1991 he received his doctorate at the University of Bonn with a dissertation on “Monumental clay architecture on the north coast of Peru”. In 1992/93 he conducted archaeological research on the pre-Hispanic history of settlements on the coast of Ecuador ("Archaeological Project La Cadena - Quevedo"). From 1993 to 1999 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Ancient American Studies at the University of Bonn and undertook research on Mayan culture in northern Yucatán, Mexico ("Archaeological Project Xkipché") and, from 1997, research on geoglyphs and settlement history in southern Peru (Nasca, Palpa , Lucanas). Since 1999 he has been a consultant for America at the Commission for Archeology of Non-European Cultures of the German Archaeological Institute in Bonn.

During his archaeological research in Central and South America he has a. a. occupied with the Nazca Lines in Peru and the Maya settlement of Xkipché in the northern Yucatán in Mexico .
