Markus Schön

Markus Schön (* 1971 ) is a German clarinetist .

Life

Markus Schön studied clarinet with Eduard Brunner, Hans-Dietrich Klaus and Hans Deinzer. He was twice included in the national selection of concerts of young artists . In 1999 he won the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Prize of the German Conservatory. Markus Schön has been principal clarinet at the Bavarian State Opera since 2003 and has been a regular guest as such. a. with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and the Concertgebouw Orkest Amsterdam. He has been playing historical clarinets since 2005 and is an increasingly popular chamber musician in this field. Since 2013 he has been professor for wind chamber music at the University of Art in Graz. From 2015 to 2016 he was professor for clarinet at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.
