Marla Ann Maples (born October 27, 1963 in Cohutta , Georgia ) is an American actress . From 1993 to 1999 she was married to the entrepreneur and later US President Donald Trump .

Life

Maple's father worked as a real estate developer. She attended Northwest Whitfield High School in Tunnel Hill , Georgia, where she became Homecoming Queen in 1981 .

In 1989 she met Donald Trump and had a high profile relationship with him, which was temporarily terminated at least once.

The high press coverage - the New York Post had Trump on its cover eight days in a row, once with a quote in which Maples said, "I had the best sex with him I have ever had" - surprised Trump, given speculation about other affairs had received much less attention from him in the tabloids until then.

A daughter emerged from their relationship. Tiffany Ariana Trump was born on October 13, 1993 in West Palm Beach , Florida .

The rampage on December 7, 1993 in a New York suburban train ( Long Island Rail Road shooting ) is said to have caused Trump to rethink his life. The couple then married on December 20, 1993 at The Plaza Hotel in New York. Thousands of guests reportedly attended, including OJ Simpson and Rosie O'Donnell . The couple separated in May 1997 and divorced on June 8, 1999.
