Marquise crown

The marquise crown is a symbol of rank and dignity for people and families who have a right to the title “marquis”.

The crown is a heraldic form for coats of arms with a crown of rank . In the broadest sense, it is a margrave crown and consists of a browband with three leaf and two pearl teeth alternating. There are three pearls on the pearl prongs. There were always small differences depending on the country. Italy , France (the old shape once had three simple pearl prongs), Spain and Denmark also had the same crown shape. In England she wore a purple cap, as was generally the case here.

The marquise crown was different in Germany , Austria , Sweden and Norway . Here it corresponded to the old count's crown . In Belgium and the Netherlands the crown had two more blade teeth.
