Marschlerhof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Marschlerhof is a desert in the area of the city of Kaltennordheim in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen in Thuringia .

location

The Dreiseithof was located on the Hinteren Hut 2.8 km west of Kaltennordheim on the Pinzler plateau, 2.4 km east of today's border with Hesse.

history

The farm was built as part of the “ Marschler Plan ” for the economic improvement of the Thuringian Rhön and was inaugurated in 1938 as an agricultural training center with other farms such as the Katzenstein and Sauckelhof and named after the Thuringian Prime Minister Willy Marschler . Cows and sheep were kept and pasture and dairy farming were carried out. As a single, agricultural homestead near the border, it was suspect to the rulers of the GDR and, like other homesteads near the border, was demolished and the site leveled in the 1950s. The last remaining remains may be an outhouse. Today there is a grill hut ("Feldablick") on the site. Since 2012 there has also been a sign with a photo of the farm. The agricultural areas in the area (grassland) are again cultivated from Kaltennordheim today.
