Marsha Cottrell

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marsha Cottrell (* 1964 in Philadelphia , USA ) is an internationally known artist.

Life

Marsha Cottrell was born in Philadelphia, USA in 1964. In 1988 she began studying painting at the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Elkins Park , Pennsylvania . In 1990 she moved to the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill , North Carolina .

Marsha Cottrell started out as a painter. For many years, however, she has been replacing canvas and brushes with page layout programs and lasser printers, smashing text into its basic graphic elements and assembling them into large-format drawings.

She not only tests different papers, but also multiple prints, very slightly shifted prints from the same original file, which can lead to controlled blurring and moiré effects and also enables denser black tones. This creates glued image fields from printouts in standard sizes, with the help of which your files can be brought into image arrangements the size of cinema screens.
