from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Marshall Islands War Memorial Park is a park on Delap Beach in the Majuro Atoll of the Marshall Islands . Originally, the site belonged to the US Headquarters Command Center for the Marshall Islands , from where the Marshall Islands were administered after World War II . Next door was the main American airfield until 1971. After the opening of a new airfield, a collection point for artifacts from the Second World War was established there. In the park today, weapons and vehicles are on display, such as carrier fighters from the Ty Mitsubishi A6M (Zero) and large ammunition that was used on the islands.

The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 when the Marshall Islands were part of the Pacific Islands Trust Territory .
