Marta Sosińska

Marta Sosińska-Janczewska (born October 4, 1939 in Warsaw ) is a Polish pianist .

Life

Marta Sosińska started playing the piano at the age of 7. In Warsaw she received piano lessons from Wanda Łosakiewicz from 1952 to 1957 and then studied with Zbigniew Drzewiecki at the Warsaw Music Academy until 1963 . She was u. a. Winner of the 7th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1965. At that time she reached third place (first place was awarded to Martha Argerich ) and received the special “Best Polonaise” award from the Frédéric Chopin Society.

During their studies they already performed concert tours through Europe and overseas. From 1985 to 2002 she held a professorship at the University of Music in Würzburg . Marta Sosińska was u. a. involved in a complete recording of Chopin's piano works .
