Martha Randall

Martha Irene Randall (born June 12, 1948 ) is an American former swimmer , Olympic medalist and former world record holder.

As a 16-year-old Randall took part in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. She received a bronze medal in Japan for her performance in third place in the 400 meter medley in 5: 24.2 minutes behind her American teammates, Donna de Varona and Sharon Finneran , who took first and second place.

Randall helped set a new world record time on September 28, 1964: 34.6 s in the 4-by-100-meter individual medley relay as a member of a US team made up of Cathy Ferguson , Cynthia Goyette and Kathy Ellis insisted. The record was broken by another US team in the 1964 Olympics twenty days later.
