Martin Basse

Martin Basse (* 1960 ) is a German paleontologist . He is currently considered one of the leading trilobite researchers in Germany.

Basse is a private scholar and volunteer at the Senckenberg Nature Museum, specializing in trilobites . He wrote a four-volume monograph on trilobites from the Devonian mountains of the Eifel (a classic German site), edited their trilobite collection at the Senckenberg Museum (which goes back to important trilobite experts at the Senckenberg Museum such as the former director Rudolf Richter and Emma Richter ) and also published it on the stratigraphy of the Central Devonian .
