Career

Britt experienced his career high before he started his professional career in the youth of West Ham United . In the 1963 FA Youth Cup final against Liverpool , he scored his team's only goal in the 3-1 defeat in the first leg; in the second leg at Upton Park , he scored four headers in the 5-2 win and the associated title win.

The center-forward made his league debut for the professional side of West Ham United in May 1963 against Blackburn Rovers , to whom he would move three years later for £ 25,000. In his three seasons with West Ham, he completed a total of 20 league games and scored six goals. Because of a serious knee injury at West Ham, he had to end his career a short time later.
