Martin Hecker

Martin Hecker (born March 3, 1942 in Neustrelitz ) is a German diplomat . He was the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Life

After studying law in Berlin, Vienna, Tübingen and Berkeley (USA), the acquisition of the Master of Laws (LL.M.), followed in 1970 promotion to Dr. jur.

After joining the Foreign Service in 1972, he was employed at the Embassy in Jordan , the Foreign Office and the Embassy in the Netherlands .

From 1984 to 1988 Martin Hecker was Deputy Head of the Department for General Personnel Matters in the Foreign Office and then until 1991 Head of the Economic Service at the Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to the international organizations in Geneva.

From 1991 to 1995 he was Head of Division in the Economic Department of the Foreign Office and Head of Division in the United Nations Department of the Foreign Office. Martin Hecker was then envoy and head of the economic department at the Moscow embassy for five years . He was then ambassador to Uzbekistan from October 2000 to July 2004 . Most recently he was ambassador to the Republic of Belarus (Belarus) from July 2004 to July 2007 .
