Martin Iffarth

Martin Iffarth (born June 29, 1957 in Merkers ) is a former German soccer player .

Martin Iffarth came from Kali Werra Tiefenort to FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt at the age of 14 , where Martin Iffarth successfully passed through the youth department with the result that he was appointed to the GDR youth team. In the national team jersey, he played a total of 21 U-18 and four U-21 games. With the Oberliga team of FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt he ran a total of 234 times and scored 27 goals. In the 1979/80 FDGB Cup , Iffarth was in the final with FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt. In 1986 Iffarth moved to the second-rate GDR league at Eintracht Sondershausen , where he played until 1995. After that he was in Großengottern until 2005 , first as a player, then the qualified sports teacher became the coach of the regional league team. Other coaching stations were the Bischlebener SV and FSV Sömmerda . Most recently, Martin Iffarth coached TSV Kerspleben, with whom he was promoted to the newly founded regional class Thuringia (8th league) for the 2011/11 season. He still plays in the traditional team of Rot-Weiß Erfurt today.

Martin Iffarth is married and has two children. Son Sascha also became a footballer and played for FC Erfurt Nord and FSV Wacker 03 Gotha in the NOFV Oberliga .
