Martin James Bartlett

Martin James Bartlett (born July 20, 1996 in London / Hornchurch ) is a British classical pianist .

Education and music career

Bartlett began his piano training at the age of six. In 2014 he began studying piano with Vanessa Latarche at the Royal College of Music in London. In the same year Bartlett won the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition in the piano category. This brought him invitations to solo appearances with leading British orchestras as well as concerts in France, Italy, Germany, Serbia and the USA. In 2015 he made his debut at the Proms. In 2017 he reached the finals at the Van Cliburn competition in Fort Worth / Texas.

In 2018 he was awarded the 2nd prize and the audience prize at the Kissinger Piano Olympics .

In January 2019, Bartlett signed a recording deal with Warner Classics. The release of his debut album "Love and Death" has been announced for May 2019.
