Urs Amann
Urs Amann (born May 25, 1951 in Winterthur ; † May 7, 2019 in Cevio ) was a Swiss painter .
Life
Urs Amann first learned the profession of typesetter and studied at the Zurich Art School in 1972 . There he specialized in oil painting . From 1975 to 1977 he lived in Crete and from 1979 to 1985 in Vienna . Most recently he lived and worked in Bignasco . He had exhibitions in Vienna, Basel and Bern. He was a member of the Winterthur artist group.
Works
Urs Amann's works are mostly surreal oil paintings. They often deal with the transience of humans. Examples of these images are, for example, The Dream or The Gate . He also made covers for records and CDs and book covers.
