Martin Petkov (born November 3, 1988 ) is an Austrian football player on the position of midfielder . He currently plays in the fourth Austrian Styrian regional league for DSV Leoben .

Career

The defender is a self-made player from DSV Leoben, where he began his football career at the age of eight. Already at the age of 16 he was able to secure a regular place in the amateur team in the 2005/06 season, which fought in the Styrian Oberliga Nord (fifth level), where he developed into a top performer. In the 2006/07 season he was already included in the squad of the professional team, but was initially only allowed to prove his talent in friendly matches with the professionals. On March 13, 2009 Petkov celebrated his debut in the championship of the first division in the 1-1 draw against FC Gratkorn , after he had previously been called up 13 times as a substitute . Before that he played a total of 89 games for the amateurs of the DSV until March 15, 2009.

During the summer break before the 2009/10 season , after completing 13 professional league games for SC-ESV Parndorf in 1919, he moved to the third-class Regionalliga Ost .
