Martin Schulz (ice hockey player)

Martin Schulz (born in the early 20th century; died between 1939 and 1945) was a German ice hockey player and was one of the founders of the first ice sports club in Weißwasser . He died in World War II .

Martin Schulz, who with other hockey veterans since 1929 on the frozen Braunsteich played hockey, saw in 1932 in the former cinema of white water, the "Gloria Palace", a film about the Berliner Schlittschuhclub and its Star Gustav Jaenecke . On December 15, 1932, the club Eissport Weißwasser was founded in the Keglerheim on Wolfgangstrasse on his initiative .

To honor him, a connecting path leading around the newly built ice arena was named after him in 2013 .

On November 28, 2013 he was jointly awarded honorary membership by the Eissport Weißwasser eV association and the Lausitzer Füchsen .
