AntiVirus Plus is an anti-virus program from the US antivirus and PC security software manufacturer McAfee (formerly known as Network Associates). The program is a version for Windows and for Mac OS X available.

Functionality

The scope of the program includes both an anti-virus program and a firewall. With the browser extension for Firefox and Internet Explorer McAfee SiteAdvisor , users are also warned of harmful search results. The latest version of McAfee AntiVirus Plus 2014 includes the following functions:

The independent Austrian antivirus test laboratory AV-Comparatives recorded and compared the detection rates of a total of 20 different virus scanners in May 2017. McAfee AntiVirus Plus had a particularly poor accuracy in comparison and was one of the worst products in the comparison. The renowned AV-Test Foundation came to similarly poor results for April 2017.
