Martin Schumacher (painter)

Martin Schumacher (born December 12, 1971 in Kleve ; † May 31, 1989 in Yulara , Australia ) was a German painter and graphic artist.

Schumacher grew up in his parents' house together with three older brothers and from 1982 attended the Collegium Augustinianum Gaesdonck boarding school . There, Franz Joseph van der Grinten became his teacher, who knew how to awaken the artistic talent of his pupil. In the few years that remained, the artist created an extensive and impressive oeuvre that included large oil paintings as well as linocuts and small drawings . Schumacher was killed in a car accident as an exchange student in Australia.
