Mary Alexandra White (* in County Wicklow ) is an Irish politician.

Born in County Wicklow, Mary White lived in Borris , County Carlow for more than 20 years . She is married and has a daughter.

Her political career began in 1997 when she ran, albeit unsuccessfully, for the Green Party for the elections for the 28th Dáil Éireann. White was elected to Carlow County Council in 1999 and re-elected in 2004. In 2001 she became vice chairman of the Green Party. In 2002 White ran again for a seat in the Dáil Éireann , this candidacy, like her candidacy for a seat in the Seanad Éireann , in the same year, unsuccessful. In 2004 she took part in the elections for the European Parliament, but could not prevail with only 5.64% of the vote. In the elections for the 30th Dáil Éireann, she finally managed to move into the Irish House of Commons in 2007. As a result, she gave up her seat on Carlow County Council . In 2007, White was also re-elected as vice chairman.

On March 23, 2010, she became Minister of State and held this post until January 23, 2011, when her party left the ruling coalition. In the subsequent elections to the 31st Dáil in February 2011, White lost, as did her five party colleagues, their seat in the lower house.
