Mary Collyer
Mary Collyer , née Mitchell (* approx. 1716/1717 in London ; † December 1762 ), was an English writer and translator from German and French.
Little is known about their life. She was probably born in London and was married to the writer and translator Joseph Collyer the Elder , with whom she had eight children. One of her children was the engraver Joseph Collyer the Younger .

- The Virtuous Orphan (1743), translation of La vie de Marianne by Marivaux
- Memoirs of the Countess de Bressol… from the French (2 volumes, 1743)
- Felicia to Charlotte: being letters from a young lady in the country, to her friend in town. Containing a series of most interesting events, interspersed with moral reflections; chiefly tending to prove that the Seeds of Virtue are implanted in the Mind of Every Reasonable Being. (1744–1749, in 2 volumes). Collection of short stories by the author

- Death of Abel (1761), translation of Salomon Gessner's Der Tod Abels (1758)
- The Messiah (2 volumes, 1763), translation by Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock's Der Messiah . Completed after her death and edited by her husband.
