Maschgiach

A Maschgiach ( Hebrew משגיח) is an overseer who controls the observance of the rules of the Jewish dietary laws, the kashrut . A rabbi or an organization under rabbinical supervision is in charge of supervision. A typical everyday work of the Maschgiach is, for example, checking eggs. These must not contain any traces of blood. Food checked by a Maschgiach is provided with a kosher stamp .
