Mashava (alternative name Bere or Mashava Mines , formerly also Mashaba ) is a mining town at an altitude of 980 meters in the Masvingo province in Zimbabwe .

Population composition:

Most of the population belongs to the Karanga tribe , a sub-group of the Shona .

economy

In the outskirts of the city, gold is mainly mined in four mines, Shabani, Temeraire, Gaths and King, but asbestos is also mined. In addition, soap stone is broken, which now plays an important role in Shona art and more in the souvenir business.
