Maskanah ( Arabic مسكنة) is a city in Syria in the Manbij district of Aleppo Governorate . It is located west of the Tabqa Dam on National Road 4 . In earlier times a Roman long-distance route ran here.
The city is first mentioned by Stephanos of Byzantium , who mentions the city in connection with a campaign by Septimius Severus in the second century against Parthia.
