Massimo (musician)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Massimo (actually Massimiliano Sapienza ; * 1975 in Catania , Sicily ) is an Italian noise musician . He studies political and social sciences in Catania.

In 1999 he made his debut with the CD "Massimo", which, like the following CD "Minimo", was more reminiscent of Clicks'n'Cuts in its minimalism . His breakthrough was the 20-minute mini-CD "Hey Babe, Let Me See Your USB and I'll Show You My FireWire" from 2001, a rhythmic and noisy soundscape based exclusively on trumpet samples and powerful with the computer manipulated. The cover of the CD caused at least as much attention as the CD itself.

Massimo clearly rejected many of the drawers used by critics to describe his music ( I don't know what to call it but I fucking know what not to call it. So please stop use the terms "power electronics", "laptop punk", "glitch and cuts" or "post-microsound stew". ), but the 2002 album "Hello Dirty" was advertised with the file under: sex / noise / armageddon. Massimo has given concerts in numerous European and non-European countries, in 2003 he was the subject of the documentary feature film Mundo Civilizado, alongside Arto Lindsay , Planet Funk , DJ Llorca , Vladislav Delay and Prefuse 73 .
