Mateo Booz

Mateo Booz , origin. Miguel Angel Correa , (born August 7, 1881 in Rosario , Santa Fe , † May 16, 1943 ) was an Argentine writer.

Booz began studying at the university in his hometown, but dropped out after a short time. He began to work in the administration and in 1910 he was entrusted with the management of the Rosario Police Department. Two years later he was hired as an administrative specialist in the economic department of the provincial government of Santa Fe.

In 1933 Booz moved to the government in Buenos Aires in the same capacity. In 1936 he returned to his hometown and took over the management of the court archive there. Parallel to his job, he wrote regularly as a freelancer for newspapers and magazines such as " La Nación ", " El Hogar ", " Estampa " or " Mungo Argentino ".

At the age of almost 62, Booz died on May 16, 1943 in Buenos Aires, where he found his final resting place.

In his literary work, Booz almost exclusively addressed his homeland. On the basis of the landscape and its inhabitants, he repeatedly confronts his readers with the clash of the long-established conservative bourgeoisie and the new immigrants.
