Matsui Takurō
Matsui Takurō ( Japanese.松井 太久 郎; * December 3, 1887 in Fukuoka Prefecture ; † June 10, 1969 ) was Lieutenant General of the Imperial Japanese Army .
Matsui was the commander of the Japanese 5th Infantry Division deployed in the Republic of China during the Second Sino-Japanese War . On December 8, 1941, his division landed on beaches in Thailand on the Malay Peninsula and was then victorious in the Battle of Singapore . On May 11, 1942, Lieutenant General Yamamoto Tsutomi Matsui Takuro replaced as commander of the division.
