Matthäus Braun

Matthäus Braun (born December 3, 1737 in Beilstein , † April 10, 1819 in Brackenheim ) was a Swabian poet.

Braun was the son of a butcher from Beilstein and worked from 1760 to 1815 as a teacher at a girls' school in Brackenheim. His literary work includes, in particular, popular poems about everyday life. Numerous works are kept as copies in the Schiller National Museum .
