Matthias Ebhardt (* 1981 in Wuppertal ) is a German canoeist . In 2011 he became world champion in the single canoe marathon .

He was born in 1981 in Wuppertal, the son of Michael Ebhardt, also a canoeist ( KSG Wuppertal ). Ebhardt is part of the racing team of the Canoe Club Wiking Bochum and specializes in the canoe marathon discipline. He starts nationally on the race distances of 200 m, 500 m, 1000 m and 5000 m both in the single canoe (C1) and in the team boats with two, four and eight canoes (C2, C4, C8).

Matthias Ebhardt is the internationally most successful German canoe rider in the canoe marathon and has won numerous titles and medals at championships. Matthias Ebhardt celebrated his greatest success at the Canoe Marathon World Championships 2011 in Singapore. There he was able to leave the entire world elite, including the reigning Olympic champion and world champion Atilla Vajda from Hungary, behind and win the title in the single canoe.
