Matthias Nötzel (born September 8, 1971 ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

Nötzel played in the German junior national team. He was promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 1998 with VC Bottrop 90 . Later he was active with the club's second team in the association league. When the Bundesliga team lost various players in 2011 due to financial problems, the new coach Igor Prieložný brought the universal player back to the Bundesliga in December. Nevertheless, Bottrop rose without a win. In the following year he rose again to the German upper house with the RWE Volleys as champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North. In December 2013, the RWE Volleys Bottrop was revoked the Bundesliga license, which is why Nötzel is initially without a club.
