Matthias Nowak (born January 11, 1966 in Hagen ) is a German football coach and cognitive trainer.
Coaching career
At his first coaching station, Nowak trained as head coach of the U-13s of his home club SSV Hagen in 1992. He signed his first contract in competitive football for the 2008/2009 season as a technical trainer for the U17 women at SG Wattenscheid 09.
From 2009 to 2017, he initially coached the U-17 juniors of FC Bayern Munich as a technical trainer, then also the 2nd women's team (2nd Bundesliga South) and finally the Bundesliga women from the 2011/12 season. In 2012 Nowak won the German Cup in 2012 with the Bundesliga women. With the U17, Nowak won the German championship three times (2013, 2015, 2016) and with the women he celebrated two championships (2015 and 2016). He then moved to the junior team division of FC Bayern Munich and trained all junior teams in the field of cognitive training. In 2017, Nowak, together with his co-author, the journalist Jörg Seewald, published his training book Move your brain for more creativity and quality of life at GU-Verlag in Munich. The book is now in its 3rd edition and is a bestseller. His football DVD "Clevere Tricks für Kinder" (published by 1x1 Sport) also became an international bestseller. In September 2017, Nowak released his contract with FC Bayern Munich and has been without a club since then. In 2018 Nowak finalized his new training concept "Deep Learning" - top performance in football in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Thomas Schack and Dr. Ludwig Vogel.
