The Matti Nykäsen Mäki ( formerly "Laajavuoren Hyppyrimäki" ) is an HS 108 normal hill in Finnish Jyväskylä . There is also a medium hill, the Matti Pullin Mäki (HS 68) and small hills of sizes K 50, K 30, K 20, K 9. All facilities are covered with plastic matting and can therefore also be used in summer.
history
Laajavuori is one of the Finnish ski centers. Until the mid-1960s there was a 50 meter hill before it was demolished after the construction of the Laajavuoren Hyppyrimäki (then K 90). The normal hill was added in 1974, followed by the construction of the K 30 in 1980. When ski jumper Matti Nykänen, who was born in Jyväskylä, won three gold medals at the 1988 Winter Olympics , the large hill was named after him. After modernization in the 1990s, it has been possible to use it in summer since 1993. So far several Finnish championships have taken place on the hill, including in 2011 and 2013 .
The hill record is 110.0 m, held by Kimmo Yliriesto . Julia Kykkänen jumped 67.0 m on the Matti Pullin Mäki , setting a new record.
