Maurice Journeau

Maurice Journeau (born November 17, 1898 in Biarritz , † June 9, 1999 in Versailles ) was a French composer and pianist .

Journeau took part in the First World War from April 1917 and had to interrupt his studies, which he continued from 1920 to 1922 at the École normal de musique de Paris and with Nadia Boulanger , a French composer.

After his marriage Journeau lived in Nice between 1926 and 1936 , where he wrote violin and piano works that have been interpreted by Gil Graven .

In 1936 he moved to Paris, where he wrote most of his works (mainly for piano , his favorite musical instrument). In the 1950s, his works were also performed publicly.
