Life

In 1972, he graduated in law at the University of La Sapienza from. On September 1, 1974, he entered the foreign service and was employed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome until 1976 . From 1976 to 1979 he was the second class legation secretary in Guatemala City . From 1979 to 1981 he was first-class delegation secretary in Bonn . From 1981 to 1985 he was employed in the protocol department. From 1985 to 1992 he was first member of the Tripoli Legation, and in 1989 he replaced Giovanni Germano as Consul General in Hamburg. In 1990 he was appointed Legation Councilor.

From 1992 to 1995 he was employed in the Economic Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome. From 1995 to 1999 he was Counselor in Washington, DC From 2000 to 2001 he was again employed at the State Department.

On October 11, 2002 he was appointed ambassador to La Paz ( Bolivia ), where he was accredited from December 4, 2002 to January 30, 2007.

From November 2011 to January 16, 2014 he was Ambassador to Dublin ( Ireland ).
