Mausberg (rapper)
Mausberg (* 1979 in Compton , California ; † July 4, 2000 there ; real name Johnny Burns ) was an American rapper .
Career
He was discovered and signed in 1998 by DJ Quik , who is also from Compton. Guest contributions on albums by various artists, including the studio album No Limit Top Dogg by Snoop Dogg , made him a name in the US hip-hop scene. Mausberg released the compilation The Konnektid Project with Suga Free in 1999 . Although this was only available in Compton and the adjoining boroughs of Los Angeles, the phonogram sold 25,000 times. After Mausberg's death, The Konnektid Project reappeared across the United States.
On July 4, 2000, Mausberg was shot dead by an unknown person outside his home in Compton at the age of 21. His first album was released in October 2000, entitled Non Fiction . Guest musicians such as Six Million, DJ Quik, AMG, Suga Free and El DeBarge are represented on this. Non Fiction was produced by DJ Quik, Saccs and Six Million.
