Max Gehrig
Max Gehrig (born December 24, 1968 in Altenkirchen (Westerwald) ), bourgeois Markus Gehrig , is a German cabaret artist, comedian, presenter, actor and journalist. He lives in Cologne and Würzburg .
Life
Gehrig grew up in Fluterschen , his parents had a specialist company for flooring and parquet, his grandfather was the director of the Mannheim palm garden. He spent most of his youth and a few later years in Cologne, where he quickly became the epitome of Cologne Immis (recognized newcomer) and was quickly considered "Cologne young".
After an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant, he worked, among other things, as a customs officer and export control administrator. In 1999 he turned to cabaret and took on roles a. a. in the TV series " AXEL! ", "Alt und durchgeknallt", some other series, as well as in various theater projects.
From 2009 to 2012 he was artistic director of the cabaret "Bronnbach Künstlerkeller", which gave regional and unknown artists the opportunity to perform, but also engaged well-known artists. Since 2010 he has taken over the tour management of the Australian singer / songwriter Coby Grant and he is touring the German-speaking area with his current program.
He has also represented the Scottish comedy magician Jarod McMurran with his agency dickeronkel.de since 2017.
At the Riegersburg in south-eastern Styria in Austria, he has been acting as bailiff since 2012 and is jointly responsible for the cultural events there.
Max Gehrig has been married to a make-up artist for the second time since 2017.
stage name
Max Gehrig struggled with his first name as a child. After he moved to Munich and the local dialect made Markus a Max, he kept this and no longer uses his original first name.
Stage programs
While his first two programs ("Ach Mama!", 1999 and "Danke Franken!", 2003) were still strongly politically oriented, in 2010 he turned to his program "Gute Nacht, Freunde !?" to a new branch, the everyday cabaret. "Goodnight friends!?" Gehrig still lists them today, always in a modified form and supplemented by current topics. Here he draws from his rich life experience, the knowledge of many human weaknesses and strengths as well as his loose but always lovable mouth. Furthermore, he invented the culinary palate-stimulating and at the same time stressing the laughing muscles dinner show "hellish? Devilish!" (2010) as well as the anarchy theater "Men at Beer!" (2011), in which he presented improvisational theater in a completely new, different and therefore challenging way for the audience. In "Reading? Lust!" (2011) he brings selected hearty, thought-provoking and also smirking delicacies from literature closer to his listeners.
Together with his colleague Daniel Helfrich, he shows an annual review with the title "Fits already!", Which has it all in all directions. He works successfully as a co-author and director on stage programs for colleagues.
characters
In his stage programs he embodies different characters, the best known are probably the "fat uncle", as Gehrig calls himself in his cabaret program, and the "Düvel vom Dom", the main character of his play "hellish? Devilish!"
