Max Handwerck in Waltershausen in Thuringia was a doll factory founded at the end of the 19th century .

history

The company was founded in 1899 and specialized in the production of porcelain and biscuit porcelain dolls as well as doll parts and clothes. Registered trademarks were the models Bébé Elite from 1901, Triumpf-Bébé from 1902 and the Cornouloid-Doll Madame Butterfly from 1913.

The Thuringian company designed its own models for their dolls' heads and ball-and-socket dolls, but also used dolls' heads manufactured by F & W Goebel on their dolls' bodies . The company exhibiting at the Leipzig Trade Fair at the turn of the century also had spare parts such as doll wigs in stock and advertised quick and inexpensive repairs of dolls.

The doll manufacturer Max Handwerck existed until the 1920s.

For international sales, the dolls were partly with Germany and Dep. stamped.
