Life

Sprenger grew up with his mother and two siblings in Wetzlar. In 2015 he suffered a cerebral haemorrhage while on vacation in Holland . After being admitted to the emergency room, he was placed in an artificial coma. Because of the cerebral hemorrhage, he developed locked-in syndrome , which resulted in his being unable to move and articulate for three months. Despite the initially poor prognosis, the therapies enabled him to return to life. He graduated from high school and started typing his story on his phone with one finger.

In 2019 he published his book Tsunami in my head - laid flat by a cerebral hemorrhage, but I'm getting my life back , which was published by Adeo Verlag . The book reached number 32 in the Spiegel bestseller lists .

Sprenger appears on television programs and at readings; friends and locals do the readings. In interviews, he reports on his experience with locked-in syndrome, his rehabilitation and the importance of writing for the recovery process.
