Maximum stands for:

  • the adjective to maximum with the meaning very large or largest
  • maximal element an element of an ordered set to which there is no greater element
  • maximum ideal , an ideal that is a maximum element with respect to the set inclusion in the set of all real ideals
  • maximal orthonormal system , an orthonormal system in which only the zero vector is orthogonal to all vectors of the orthonormal system
  • maximum intersection , a partitioning of a graph so that the total weight of the edges running between the two partitions is maximal
