Maximilian Becker

Maximilian Becker (* 1978 ) is a German lawyer .

Life

From 1999 to 2006 he completed the diploma course "German and European Business Law" at the University of Siegen . From 2007 to 2013 he was a research assistant at the chair for civil and commercial law with Peter Krebs in Siegen . After completing his doctorate in 2012 on the subject of “Absurd Contracts”; Awarded the advancement award of the University of Siegen for the advancement of young scientists awarded by the DIRLMEIER-GEDÄCHTNISSTIFTUNG, he teaches from 2013 to 2019 as a junior professor (W1) for civil law and intellectual property law at the University of Siegen. After the habilitation in 2019 on the topic of "Absolute power of rule"; Date of the habilitation lecture: July 3, 2019, he has been teaching at the University of Hanover at the Chair of Data Protection Law and IT Law (W3) since 2019 .

His research areas are civil law and interfaces to medical law, data law and information technology law, IT law and media law (industrial property law, especially new protected goods: events, data in Industry 4.0, domains; copyright law, especially the modernization of copyright law), competition law and legal methodology (with transitions to legal philosophy and legal theory).
