Maxine Cooper Gomberg formerly Maxine Cooper (born May 12, 1924 in Chicago , Illinois - † April 4, 2009 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .

life and career

Maxine Cooper first attended Bennington College in Vermont and then studied acting at the Pasadena Playhouse . In 1946 she traveled to Europe, where she appeared in television productions for the BBC . After five years she returned to the United States. She made her feature film debut in Robert Aldrich's film noir classic Rattennest .

Aldrich subsequently also cast her in autumn storms and what really happened to Baby Jane? .

In addition, she appeared in various television series such as Perry Mason and Twilight Zone as a guest star since the mid-1950s . In 1957 she married the screenwriter and film producer Sy Gomberg and retired from show business in the 1960s.
