Maxx is a German Eurodance duo. The band name Maxx is an abbreviation for "Maximum Ecstasy" (maximum ecstasy). It had its greatest successes with the two dance floor hits Get-a-Way and No More in 1993 and 1994, which were also internationally successful. From Get-a-Way were sold more than 250,000 recordings in Germany, so that the single gold status achieved. More than 1.1 million units were sold in Europe. Further publications followed, with which the group was unable to build on the previous successes.
The duo consisted of the first song from the singer Samira Besic, who shortly thereafter separated from the project, and Gary Bokö, the Rapp Arts in Raggamuffin style contributed. In the accompanying video, the singer was portrayed by the dancer Alice Montana. For the next songs, the singer was replaced by Linda Meek. Maxx was produced by David Brunner alias The Hitman and Jürgen Wind alias George Torpey, who founded the group in 1993 and wrote all the lyrics for the band together with Gary Bokoe. In 1995 the group broke up after releasing one last single, Move Your Body .
At the beginning of 2014 the rapper Gary Bokoe performed together with a new singer in Finland.
In December 2016, MAXX announced on its own website that it would go on a European tour from 2017. The act now consists of the former singer Elyse aka Linda Meek and the new rapper Elijah MC.
