Mayr-Melnhof Holz Holding AG is an Austrian sawmill company founded in 1850 and based in Leoben . The company produces and sells wood construction products and wood fuels.

history

The Mayr-Melnhof Holz Group was founded in Leoben in 1850 as a sawmill. In 1991 the timber trading company Allinger-Mattner, now part of Mayr-Melnhof Holz Leoben, was acquired. In 2001 the company bought the glulam timber plant Systemholz AG, today part of Mayr-Melnhof Holz Gaishorn.

In 2004, the Mayr-Melnhof Group in Paskov founded Mayr-Melnhof Holz Paskov, the largest sawmill in the Czech Republic to date , and in 2007 the pellet plant in Paskov was put into operation

In 2008 the Stallinger / Kaufmann Group was acquired, today Mayr-Melnhof Holz Reuthe. The first glued laminated timber was produced there in 1958, and concrete formwork beams and 3-layer panels were added in 1964. In the same year (2008) a new production hall for the manufacture of cross laminated timber up to a maximum of 3.5 m × 16.5 m was built at the Gaishorn location. In September 2009, Mayr-Melnhof Holz Efimovskij followed, one of the largest and most modern sawmills in Russia with its own forestry company. In 2013 it had reached full capacity utilization. In 2017 the pellet plant in Efimovskij was put into operation.

In 2018, the German Hüttemann Group was acquired and the two companies continued as Mayr-Melnhof Hüttemann Wismar and Mayr-Melnhof Hüttemann Olsberg.
