Mayuko Kamio

Mayuko Kamio ( Japanese 神 尾 真 由 子 , Kamio Mayuko ; born June 12, 1986 in Toyonaka , Osaka Prefecture ) is a Japanese violinist.

She studied violin playing a. a. at the Toho Gakuen School of Music, with Dorothy Delay and Masao Kawasaki at the Aspen Music Festival as well as at the Juilliard School and the University of Music and Theater in Zurich.

Kamio has performed as a soloist with various renowned orchestras, including the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra , the Russian National Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra.

She plays a Stradivarius from 1727.

She won first prize in the 2007 International Tchaikovsky Competition .
