McMahon (constituency)

McMahon is one of 150 constituencies used to elect the Australian House of Representatives . It is located in the western part of Sydney in the state of New South Wales .
The constituency includes the boroughs Abbotsbury , Bossley Park , Canley Vale, Cecil Park , Eastern Creek , Edensor Park , Erskine Park , Fairfield , Fairfield Heights , Fairfield West , Greenfield Park , Greystanes , Horsley Park , Kemps Creek , Merrylands West , Mount Vernon , Orchard Hills , Pemulwuy , Prairiewood , Prospect , Smithfield ,St Clair and Wetherill Park and portions of Blacktown , Merrylands and South Wentworthville .
The constituency was named after former Australian Prime Minister William McMahon and laid out in 2009. He replaced the abolished Prospect constituency .
Chris Bowen of the Australian Labor Party is the constituency's first incumbent MP.
