In the film, Audrey II and Mean Green Mother from Outer Space reveal himself to Seymour as a man-eating alien whose goal is to rule the earth. She only helped Seymour as long as it was useful to her goals. But now it is only useful as food.
The song was not included in the original musical . It was written especially for the film to make an Oscar possible.
