The mebis Infoportal contains articles on media didactic and media educational topics as well as assistance on all sub-offers of mebis ("mebis Support").

Exam archive

The mebis examination archive provides central Bavarian final exams and comparative work from all types of schools for exercise purposes.

Learning platform

The mebis learning platform is a data protection compliant learning management system based on moodle . It is the centerpiece of the portal, on which teachers provide assignments and materials. A chat function is also included. For the creation of the tasks, the teachers have among other things the possibility to create interactive content with H5P .

teachSHARE

Via the teachSHARE course exchange platform, Bavarian teachers have the option of making their own course rooms available to other teachers as a template.

blackboard

The mebis board is a browser-based software for creating notes and pictures. Teachers can save blackboard pictures and share them with students. In order to make the blackboard images usable interactively, content from other mebis partial offers or from other websites can be integrated.

Events

Distance teaching during the Corona crisis from March 2020

As part of the events surrounding the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, many Bavarian schools switched large parts of their teaching to mebis. The platform was equipped with additional server capacities at short notice.

Suspected hacker attack on March 16, 2020

The platform was targeted by a hacker in the morning hours of March 16, 2020. According to information from the website operator, a DDoS attack was carried out. This led to a failure of the website for users and made it difficult to start digital lessons after the school closings due to the Sars-CoV-2 virus.

Vulnerabilities released on August 21, 2020

In the early morning of August 21, 2020, the 0x90.space eV Hackerspace from Nuremberg published open security holes in Mebis. This happened because the operators of the learning platform had been informed of the vulnerabilities since May 21, 2020, but the 90-day responsive disclosure deadline of August 19, 2020 had passed.
