Meckatzer Bräu-Engel in Kempten

The Meckatzer Bräu-Engel inn in Kempten (Allgäu) at Prälat-Götz-Straße 17 is a listed building . The main building of the economy, a side building on the eaves with a dwelling, dates from the 18th century. The Princely School is located on a small elevation behind this building .

The building has been used as a restaurant since at least 1819. In 1894 a dance hall was set up in the central building. On August 1, 1934, the Meckatzer Löwenbräu brewery acquired the building. The first major renovation took place in 1980, and a year later the dance hall was sold to the Huber dance school. In 1997 the building with its catering business was completely refurbished. In April 1998 the restaurant reopened.
