Motorama is a Russian post-punk and new wave band from Rostov-on-Don , named after the 1991 film of the same name.

history

Motorama was founded in 2005 by Vladislav Parshin and a musician friend, who later left the band. Today, in addition to the remaining founding member, the new bassist Airin Marchenko is involved in the compositions. Motorama has released three LPs and seven EPs so far. The band is a representative of the Russian independent scene; the NME even assigns it a possible pioneering role for new developments. The music is strongly based on the early post-punk of the 1980s.

Their first album Alps was released in 2010 as a self-publication. This was followed by Calendar (2012), Poverty (2015), Dialogues (2016) and finally her sixth album Many Nights (2018) on the French independent label Talitres. Initially the band played mainly concerts in Russia, until 2011 they also became internationally known and toured Europe and Latin America.

In January 2020 Motorama founded I'm Home Records. The independent label includes the Russian bands Utro, Letovgorode and KWK, in which Vladislav Parshin is active as a singer.
