The Mecom Group was a media group based in London . She was involved in media houses in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Poland and the Ukraine, among others.
Mecom was founded in 2000 by David Montgomery .
Since 2005 the company has been listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in London. Between October 2005 and January 2009, the group included the Berliner Verlag and the Hamburger Morgenpost . On January 13, 2009 the Cologne publisher M. DuMont Schauberg announced that it would take over the activities of the Mecom group in Germany including the Berliner Zeitung and the Hamburger Morgenpost . According to its own information, Mecom achieved a sales price of 152 million euros for all of its publications.
In Poland, Mecom owned the Rzeczpospolita .
In Norway, Mecom owned the Orkla Media group , which it bought in 2006 for 970 million euros.
In February 2015, the Belgian publishing house De Persgroep took over Mecom with its two holdings Koninklijke Wegener in the Netherlands and Berlingske Media in Denmark. the following year the company was dissolved.
